The Ultimate Trade In Begins

Kyle MacDonald traded his way from one red paperclip to a house. Inspired by his story, I've set my sights much lower. I just want a brand new car.

My Current Car

My current car is a green 2000 Nissan Altima. The last of the old style Altimas, it probably looked cool in 1993 (okay, it probably didn't), but now it just looks like an econobox with aspirations at something better. The driver's side window won't work (thankfully, it's stuck in the up position), my penchant for loud volumes has ragged out the speakers in the car, and the passenger's side view mirror had breakaway functionality that unfortunately only worked once. It's now hanging on with duct tape.

My Wife's Current Car

My wife's current car is a 2003 Honda CR-V 2WD base model. My wife loves the thing, but because our money was tight at the time (like that's changed!), it is bare bones. No sunroof, few options, and it's not exactly a people mover, with its tight back seat and passenger side that cuts me off at the knees.

My Proposition

I am going to trade a Hot Wheels car for things until I reach my ultimate goal, a new car for myself. Along the way, I'll talk about the cars I like, visits to dealerships in the local area for test drives, and what kind of trades I've made.
